Call for Abstracts Guidelines

Presentations and Posters for the LNG2026 conference will be selected from abstracts submitted to the LNG2026 Programme Committee through the Call for Abstracts.

The Programme Committee will consider all abstracts submitted within the deadline of 1 July 2025.

Guidelines for Accepted Abstracts

  • Submission link is now closed.
  • Submissions should be in English only.
  • No images/graphs/charts/tables are allowed in the abstract.
  • Abstract submissions are limited to 500 words. Abstracts are intended to be snapshots of intended presentations, not complete papers.
  • Abstracts must be original work or fresh interpretations of existing material.
  • Brand names are not permitted and should only be used to describe a clearly differentiated product/service.
  • Abbreviations should be spelt out in full to ease reviewing.
  • Authors are advised to obtain their company’s approval prior to submitting their abstract.
  • Abstracts must be currently unpublished. The author agrees that the paper will not be published anywhere prior to LNG2026.
  • Please do not use language that is commercial in tone.
  • Technical Papers: Authors who have been accepted as technical paper presenters will be obliged to submit a full paper and presentation.
  • Posters: Authors whose abstracts have been selected as posters will need to provide the poster presentation itself.
  • Panel Discussions: For abstracts that are chosen as a part of the panel discussions, authors will need to provide either an extended abstract with summary conclusions or presentation slides.

Abstract Format

  • Abstract title: Use title case, for example: Using Title Case is Important.
  • Abstract lead author/speaker names, co-authors' names: The lead author/speaker’s name is first, and is followed by each co-author’s name. This should be followed by the lead author/speaker’s and co-authors' organisations in the same order as the names are mentioned, for example:
    • Lead Author/Speaker: Andrew Banks; Co-authors: Osman Mohamed, Pam Brown
    • Organisations: Aramco; Enbridge, Baker Hughes
  • Abstract body: Abstract description to be updated in this section.

Preparation Before Submission

  • Prepare your abstract as per the format guidelines above.
  • Review all the themes, topics and descriptions.
  • Prepare your short biography (max. 100 words). It should summarise your current position, educational qualifications, brief career details and major career achievements.
  • Ensure you have a high-resolution headshot (head and shoulders only), JPEG format, size: 400x400 px, no larger than 2MB, on a white background.
  • Prepare information on the co-authors to complete on the abstract form: co-author full name, organisation, email address and phone number.

Other Important Information

  • The lead author/speaker submitting will receive an abstract submission confirmation email on successful submission of their abstract.
  • If the abstract is accepted, the full paper/presentation/poster will be delivered by only one presenter at LNG2026.
  • The decision of the Programme Committee is final.
  • Accepted abstracts and full papers/presentations/posters will be published as part of the LNG2026 conference proceedings with joint copyright held between the lead author and LNG2026.
  • Accepted lead authors/speakers (who will be presenting the paper/poster/panel discussion) agree to pay the Speaker Registration Fee. The Speaker Registration Fee represents a 50% discount on the Standard Delegate Fee.
  • Accepted submissions will be added to an online archive which holds papers from all LNGX conferences since 1968.

Abstract submissions will be reviewed by a diverse group of experts on the Programme Committee and assessed for suitability for inclusion in the LNG2026 Technical Conference programme, with accepted submissions delivered as either paper or poster presentations, or panel discussion on commercial topics. The Programme Committee reserves the right to re-allocate submissions to alternative themes should the content be a good fit.
