Chen Jie

Dr Jie Chen, a noted CNOOC LNG Expert, was appointed SVP Collaboration of Shell QGC by CNOOC in 2023. Since then, he's been committed to advancing LNG production and enhancing QGC-CNOOC ties for better joint asset value.

Dr Chen embarked on his journey with CNOOC in 2002, promptly after obtaining his Ph. D in Petroleum Engineering from China University of Petroleum. He holds a PC member of LNG2019 and LNG2023. In his tenure, he served as the manager of CNOOC's inaugural LNG plant and spearheaded the development of crucial technologies such as large-scale gas liquefaction, hydrogen liquefaction, and LNG cold energy power generation. With extensive practical experience and profound professional knowledge in the LNG industry, he has been ardently endeavouring to pioneer an economically viable integration pathway for LNG in combination with hydrogen and renewable energy via technological innovation, thereby contributing to the sustainable evolution of the energy industry.
