Bjarte Pedersen is the Senior Vice President of the Hub India, Middle East, and Africa (IMEA) at Energy Industries based in Abu Dhabi.

He leads ABB’s regional Energy Industries hub, partnering with customers across power and water, oil and gas, and chemicals to electrify, automate, and digitalize operations for greater efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. With more than 30 years at ABB, Bjarte has held senior roles spanning global product groups, regional business area leadership, and transformation initiatives, which gives him a comprehensive perspective on how integrated automation, electrical, and digital technologies enable performance improvement at scale.

His current focus is on advancing the energy transition, helping industries decarbonize while maintaining competitiveness. This includes driving innovation in automation, electrification, digitalization, and AI‑enabled optimization, as well as strengthening grid resilience and renewable integration. He is a frequent contributor to industry forums, where he shares insights on how technology can accelerate progress toward net‑zero goals and unlock new value streams in evolving energy markets.

Bjarte holds an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and trained at the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy.
