Gulf Drilling International (GDI)—Qatar’s national onshore and offshore drilling and lift-boat company—was established in 2004 as a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum (now QatarEnergy) and Japan Drilling Company (JDC) and became a wholly owned subsidiary of Gulf International Services (GIS) in 2014. With a versatile fleet of 12 premium offshore jack-up rigs, 7 onshore rigs, 5 lift boats and 4 shallow bore rigs, GDI provides over 60% of Qatar’s drilling needs, delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions to both national and international clients.
